Zooids
Alberta Pane Gallery,
Venice, Italy

A collective, automatic drawing exercise . The idea would be for us artists in the gallery to consider ourselves as a collaborative 'organism' rather than a group of people in some kind of unspoken competition with each other.
The model or template would be the 'siphonophore' which appears to be a single organism, but each specimen is actually a colony composed of highly specialised individual animals called zooids.
The underlying idea is that it would create an unconscious bond between us for mutual collaboration and expansion: a kind of proto-utopian practice which would also suggest how the gallery is interlinked as a larger unity of creation.
